She was the cheerful voice of information, and hers were the hands that delivered it every morning …
Memorial services will be held tomorrow for Thief River Falls Radio Broadcaster, Mona Bjerkness, who died this week, the victim of cancer.
Known affectionately as “The Radiogram Lady,” Mona delivered the news every morning – and spent many afternoons as an FM Announcer on KKDQ. She was a devoted member of our Radio Family; arriving at the station in every weather crisis, a calm and often courageous team player – handling phones and our on-line dialogue with the National Weather Service.
Mona was fiercely loyal, a friend who could be counted on in good and in troubled times, tenaciously reliable and one of those people in life who never gave any less than her best.
Memorial Services will be held tomorrow at 2pm at the Johnson Funeral Home in Thief River Falls.
Mona Bjerkness was 59.
