Pennington County officials held a public listening session Tuesday in Thief River Falls, concerning the yet-to-be-adopted County Buffer Strip Ordinance, the local enforcement of State Buffer Laws.
The session, designed to take input from the public was sparsely attended with only a handful of people in the audience.
The hour-long session, which involved two County-planned meetings, showed that farmers were supportive of keeping enforcement control local.
No policy was adopted Tuesday, with Pennington County Board Chair Cody Hempel emphasizing the purpose of the meeting was to gather feedback from members of the public.
County Board Member and farmer Neil Peterson says representatives from the County will continue taking comment from the public until their next County Board meeting scheduled for December 12th at five PM, when the Board is expected to adopt the ordinance.
