An Oklee area man, free on bail after being charged with a probation violation – awaits extradition tonight after being taken into custody on a warrant in Kansas.
Pennington County Sheriff Ray Kuznia says the warrant was issued for the arrest of 41 year old Eric Reinbold; ordered not to leave the state after posting 15 thousand dollar bail following a court hearing just one week ago – charged with a Probation Violation after the discovery of alleged pipe bombs on jointly owned property in Red Lake County.
Sheriff Kuznia says Reinbold will undergo extradition proceedings before being returned to Pennington County, where the County Attorney’s office is very likely to renew demands to revoke probation Reinbold had been serving in lieu of a prison sentence on charges related to a domestic incident two years ago.
In addition to the Probation Violation, Reinbold was also charged in Red Lake County with Possession of Explosives, with his next court appearance scheduled next week in Red Lake Falls.
Sheriff Kuznia said Tuesday evening the case remains under investigation and he “doesn’t know what was going through Reinbold’s mind” when he apparently fled the state. Kuznia also said; “for the safety of the public,” he is happy Reinbold is in custody.
