(Chicago, IL)  –  Kai Forbath kicked the game-winning field goal late in the fourth quarter to give the Vikings a 20-17 win over the Bears on “Monday Night Football” at Soldier Field.  Sam Bradford started the game at quarterback for Minnesota, but wasn’t able to finish the first half and was replaced by Case Keenum.  Keenum connected with Kyle Rudolph for a touchdown and Jerick McKinnon ran for a 58-yard score.  The Vikings are now 3-and-2 and host the Packers on Sunday.

(Minneapolis, MN)  –  The Minnesota Twins are rewarding manager Paul Molitor with a three-year contract extension.  The deal keeps him in Minnesota through at least the 2020 season.  Molitor led the Twins to an 85-and-77 record this year, which was a 26-win improvement from 2016.  They became the first team in baseball history to reach the postseason after losing 100-plus games the previous year.

(Chicago, IL)  –  The Wild are off the ice until Thursday when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks.  Minnesota is 0-1-and-1 to start the year after Saturday’s 5-4 shootout loss in Carolina.  The Wild will host Columbus o Saturday in their home opener.

(Minneapolis, MN)  –  The Timberwolves are preparing for the regular season.  The Wolves wrapped up preseason play 2-and-1 after splitting their two games with the Warriors in China.  The regular season starts one week from tomorrow at San Antonio.

(Minneapolis, MN)  –  The Golden Gophers are gearing up for their meeting with 22nd-ranked Michigan State on Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium.  Minnesota looks to snap a two-game skid after losing to Purdue on the road on Saturday.  The Gophers are now 3-and-2 on the season and 0-and-2 in Big Ten play.  The Spartans sit at 4-and-1 and 2-and-0.
